With the Omnivore Recycling containers from Aachen-based Hermetia Tech GmbH, food waste from regional sources is being converted into valuable protein and fertilizer for the first time in an automated process – locally, ecologically, and economically. The robust, modular technology requires minimal effort and can be scaled flexibly from one ton of food waste per day. Black soldier fly larvae convert organic waste into high-quality animal feed and nutrient-rich fertilizer, keeping nutrients in the cycle. Omnivore thus combines circular economy with profitability and creates solutions with a global impact. Partnerships with agriculture and food production create locally effective material cycles. The insect recycling system offers a progressive combination of circular economy, climate protection, and resource efficiency.
