Batch #5
Category: Medical technology, 3D printers for personalized medicine
The Cologne-based start-up goatAM has developed a 3D printer for the patient-specific production of medicines, which can be used to tailor oral dosage forms to the individual needs of patients and produce them in small batch sizes in a decentralized manner. The target markets are all entities in the pharmaceutical market in the healthcare/life science sector that produce personalized medicines, in particular pharmaceutical companies, service providers for formulation development and production as well as hospital and public pharmacies. In addition, there are numerous secondary markets that are also to be developed, such as the manufacture of individual nutritional supplements, the production of implants containing active ingredients or veterinary medicine.
