The Bochum-based start-up xemX develops customised catalysts for chemical processes, especially to accelerate essential technologies for the energy transition, e.g. to speed up green hydrogen production and make it independent of expensive precious metals, which are also often mined and processed under environmentally harmful conditions. xemX discovers suitable materials for electrocatalysts with the help of AI-data-driven high-throughput research on high-entropy alloys. Based on a knowledge database created through the research, the team offers advice and also develops catalysts independently.
