Batch #6
Category: Microsystems Technology | BioTech
Biosensor Engineering GmbH, based in Bochum, develops GaN sensors for point-of-care diagnostics and personalized medicine that enable highly sensitive quantitative protein analysis as well as measurements of extra- and intracellular signalling pathways and deliver results in the shortest possible time. In future, the biosensors should make it possible to carry out 5-euro breath tests in less than 1 minute, providing diagnoses that are just as reliable as a PCR test, which takes 15 minutes for the same diagnosis and costs around 120 euros. The target markets are primarily human and veterinary in-vitro diagnostics and the pharmaceutical industry.
